Interlocking Jigsaw Mats

 

An EVA jigsaw mat is manufactured using expandable foam. Interlocking EVA foam jigsaw mats (also known as puzzle mats) have become very popular over the last few years. Jigsaw mats are much more affordable compared to the traditional vinyl and tatami mats.

What are Tatami Mats Made From?

Tatami mats are vinyl mat with the traditional tatami finish as mentioned above. Tatami mats are made from vinyl and have a compressed inner foam. The construction is designed to be both durable to constant use and able to absorb impact. They are used by many different martial art including judo, MMA jiu jitsu, aikido etc. These mats are also used for all forms of training where a durable mat is required.

Our Tatami Mats come in a 40mm thickness in two different colours; these mats have a traditional tatami finish, and are made of vinyl with an inner compressed sponge and anti-skid bottom. They are perfect for high impact sports such as judo, jiu-jutsu, aikido and other martial arts. These mats come in 1m x 2m sizing however other can be ordered as 1m x 1m if required. We can also supply other colours and thicknesses by special order.

 

 

MMA Mats

 

MMA or mixed martial arts is the system of combining standing and grappling fighting arts. With MMA practitioners are required to train an assortment of techniques which exposes them to more injury then just training just one martial arts discipline. This fact requires them to have mats which are suitable for their needs.

 

Our MMA mats are very similar to the tatami mats. They are the same thickness (40mm) and same size (1m x 2m). The biggest difference is that the mats come with a smooth surface. These MMA mats are ideal for mixed martial arts where there is a combination or kick boxing and grappling.

The smooth surface limits the amount of mat burn which is beneficial in a no-gi environment. Also constant throwing and grappling can cause a lot of friction which the practitioner may want to avoid. For such applications these mats are ideal.

Judo is a traditional Japanese martial art which combines trowing and grappling. Judo practitioners generally use tatami mats which are also commonly know as judo training mats or simply judo mats.
